THE SUPERIOR GOAT BREED Savanna's Are Not a White Boer. The breed is extremely rare, especially in finding DNA'd animals. Savanna goats are hardy and adaptable with a natural resistance against tick-born diseases such as heart water and other external parasites. Savanna's are heat and drought resistant and easily endure cold and rain. We do provide shelter for all of our animals for all seasons, especially the cold temps, wind and rain. Savanna's have fully pigmented skin which provides protection from strong ultra-violet rays. Savanna's have simple and low nutritional requirements, with minimal handling and care. Range performance trials indicate that the breed did not develop mouth or hoof problems, as is the case with Boers. Also, overdeveloped or "overshot" lower jaws did not occur. Two week old crossed doelings Dume (our first Savanna Commercial Buck) 5 Day old kids Savanna's can survive and reproduce where other small stock breeds cannot. Savanna's produce a higher net profit because of lower input costs. Savanna's breed all year round, exhibit early sexual maturity and have long, productive lives. This breed shows rapid growth and good carcass conformation. Their pure white color is highly regarded for religious purposes. They kid with no assistance therefore no need for bonding pens. Savanna Does aggressively defend their kids. *We have found in our Savanna's and crosses that they show a much higher growth rate, have more muscle, are heartier during kidding season, they physically develop much faster, and are better mothers compared to the Boers. Full Blooded Savanna's are now DNA verified for accurate and responsible breeding.
